1) How did a girl with "fashion model looks" get started in wrestling? That's funny to hear that I am a girl with "fashion-model looks" considering I did want to model at one point in my life but was turned down due to my height and weight. You might find it strange, but I actually wanted to be on the high school wrestling team, but was unable to as they didn't have coed wrestling at the time. Since I dated a varsity wrestler at the time and was a cheerleader, I decided to take on some wrestling moves from a girlfriend's mom that coached female wrestling in the 70's. I continued to cheer while learning a few "fun" holds. My ex-boyfriend went on to the state championships and I went along for support. He ended up losing and felt horrible. After the meet, I gave him some advice and told him that he should consider working with a female coach after school. He managed to tell me that "females" didn't know anything about wrestling. I was angry and challenged him right then and there on the spot. His colleagues managed to cheer him on, though they were giving us both a hard time. I was in shock when I applied a certain hold that controlled him and lifted him right off the mat. I begin to yank back harder and he was moaning in pain for me to stop. His coach walked in and told me to stop messing with his star wrestler. The other guys came to my defense and said I had just taken down his star wrestler. I questioned, "Why aren't girls on the wrestling team?" I wanted to try out. Unfortunately, it was too late as I was in my last semester of my senior year in high school. I was introduced to some collegiate style of wrestling at a local university, but at the time was a bit turned off by all the rules. I was later introduced to a fighting club by a very close friend who knew I needed to make some cash as I was on my own and out of my parent's house after graduating. She knew I loved fighting. I did some freelance fighting for a few years and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Later on, I was discovered by Ashley and joined Knockout Productions, which is now Ringmaster Girls. I have been with them ever since. It has been a blast! 2) What type of girl were you growing up? Were you athletic? I think I was more of the "tomboy" type and very athletic. I enjoyed competing against boys in basketball, running (you name it). I also played in sports (soccer and softball), and I was on the swim team for one year in high school and a cheerleader, which was a shock to all my peers. 3) Do you prefer female vs. female matches or mixed? I like both. I actually have wrestled an equal amount of men and women, due to the recent tournaments and conventions that have been put on. It is fun to take both on in front of a public audience or privately if there is a "score" to settle. I like a challenge, and I love to win. It also depends on their experience. I really enjoy a submission match. I find women are more flexible than men. However, men seem easier to break down once you discover a hold they can't take! 4) What are your favorite holds? I enjoy using my legs a lot, so I would have to say head scissors hold with a chin lock, camel clutches are second, a grapevine press, and a full nelson with an abdominal scissors. I enjoy taking away both the upper body and lower body of my opponent. 5) Krissy, you seem always willing to take on new challenges. Are you very adventurous? Yes, I love taking on new challenges. Especially if a certain type of match has never been done before or it's strength against strength. I like to think I am adventurous, but more so on my own turf as that is where I like to get creative and show off a bit of my skill and strength. 6) Krissy, you've done so many videos. Do you have a favorite? It's hard to pick a favorite. I have been told a couple are really good though. I guess because I have done wrestling on so many levels from semi-competitive to competitive, it would depend on my mood at the time of picking one to watch. I honestly haven't seen them. I just remember most of the fights that occurred and I love talking with those very special female fighting fans about all the details! I have been told when it comes to videos
a lot of people consider that if we aren't wrestling prostyle like on WWF,
our fights aren't real even though we are fighting our hardest in the ones
that count. (So I did do one prostyle wrestling video, and that was a lot
of fun.) However, I think I like the videos that depict my best in fighting,
for I personally know they are real. For a mixed video, I would have
to say the one fight with Straddle's Chuck since I don't think many people
have seen that side of me. I remember giving it my all and trying to take
down a man that was equal in my size and weight. It was something I have
always wanted to do and to see if I could beat a man fair and square. As
far as a female vs. female video, I would have to say the two separate
fights I had against Tai last spring and Candy last summer. Both of these
fights were in our ring during different times of the year. However, I
had been used to competing at conventions where there was a referee involved
and a time limit on the match. I liked these two fights for there was no
time limit and I didn't have a referee breathing down my neck, just pure
fighting. I used a lot of wrestling holds with some
7) What are some of your hobbies you like to do when you want to get away from the wrestling scene? I really enjoy making things for others, doing artwork, camping, dancing, movies and working out. 8) What are your favorite foods? I love Fetuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken (but I sometimes have to make the sauce myself so that it is low in fat and healthier), watermelon, halibut and Balance protein bars. 9) What are some of your goals for the future in and out of wrestling? I have been working on my BA, believe it or not. It has taken me quite some time and I would like to finish this especially. Also, continue in the wrestling industry and help it grow stronger by promoting female athleticism to its best. 10) Krissy, thanks so much for your time. Would you like to say anything to your fans? I would love to thank each and every one of you. I am forever grateful for the love and support that has helped make me the female fighter I am today!
